Touched up doors throughout building. Sanded doors and stained
Tightened and adjusted hinges on interior doors
 Most of these doors are in very rough condition. A lot of them have very deep cuts

We met with Dan Morris this morning to discuss the job. Spent the day getting organized and getting a game plan together. We decided to close off part of the gym to use as a staging area for the rostrum. This will keep dust out of the chapel. Maintenance will resume tomorrow

Applied second coat of paint to overflow ceiling
Reassembled rostrum
Clean up

10 hrs spent working on rostrum
4 hrs spent on second coat of paint and clean up


We were not able to fix the 2 cracks in the ceiling due to the ladder not being tall enough to reach. The "giant" giant ladder does not convert to an extension ladder. We will bring one next week that will allow us to get up there

Work performed today:
Finished sanding trim
Stained all trim and backside rostrum panels
Put polyurethane on all trim and panels
Applied first coat of paint to overflow ceiling
Re-finished podium platform

                                                    Removed panels from back side of rostrum


                                                         New rostrum panels (stain and poly)
                                                     
                        Re-finished rostrum platform (will put microphone back tomorrow after it dries)

                                                                 Trim and panels drying

                                                     Overflow floor covered to protect from paint

                                                    Overhead fixtures taped to protect from paint

                                                Overflow ceiling before first coat of paint applied

                                                          Second coat to be applied tomorrow


Tomorrow we will put the rostrum back together, apply second coat of paint, re-attach microphone and  clean up in time for Stake Conference

Charleston rostrum

10/7/11 Charleston Stake Center

Myself, Ross Penrod and Dan Erdman met Patrick Tillotson and Dan Morris at the Stake Center this morning to walk the building and discuss the details of the work to be performed. It was determined that the rostrum, Chapel and overflow would be our main focus due to Stake Conference this weekend.

Our meeting was 3 and a half hours long.
1 hour was spent at Home Depot buying material
5 hours sanding rostrum and cleaning up
